The cake box was really pretty, but I had expected a different type of folding possibility - where I could push the cake into the middle of a flat cardboard and fold up the sides next to the cake (the cake boxes I was used to). Unfortunately, the cake box folds in such a way that you have to first fold it up, then "lower' the cake gently into it, which was something I was unable to do (even though my cake was 8"). It was probably my lack of skill with putting cake into boxes, but if you're like me, perhaps you'd be well-suited to another kind of box, because I ended up dropping my cake in slightly during the lowering process, which almost messed up my two-layer frosting a lot. I ended up giving up on the box and just putting the cake on a plate.

This is a beautiful, sturdy box. YES, you have to lift the cake in if you want to use it for a cake but I was sooo tempted to put knitted baby gifts in there and tie a bow on top. It is just SUCH a cute package! I love it and will definitely be buying more -- and not just for baked gifts. :)
